I’m back from my summer hiatus to feature this killer dress from TTYA London‘s new line!
London-based former model and fashion stylist Irene Agbontaen created TTYA London (Taller Than Your Average) – an apparel brand offering accessible, modern, functional pieces that are specifically cut for women who are 5’9” or taller, as well-fitting staple pieces that are the foundation to effortless style, whatever your height or size.
Since its inception in 2013, TTYA London has garnered a cult following including celebs such as Jourdan, Karlie Kloss, Elle Macpherson, Jessie J, Daisy Lowe and Wendy Williams as the go to fashion label for tall girls!
The dress featured is called the Atlanta Dress and it’s a perfect fit for us long legged tall ladies!
The dress features a fitted sweetheart dress that hugs your curves in all the right places. I was very impressed with the quality of the internal dress as it was well structured and featured a thick material that hid any imperfections.
The internal dress was then layered with a mesh knit fabric that is reminiscent of the 80’s vibe that has been featured on countless runways recently.
The sleeves of this dress fit well over my wrists!! Tall Girl score!!!
Now most midi dresses fit me right at the knee but this dress has been tailored just for us tall girls! At 6 feet tall this dress hits me mid calf – right where midi dresses should fit.
TTYA is one tall brand that I always anxiously anticipate their collection and as usual they delivered us tall women fresh and fierce fashion.
The dress was shot at Jos A Magnus & Coa local DC bourbon distillery which is perfect for date night with that special someone or just a damn cool spot to vibe with friends.
Height Goddess was one of the first brands that catered exclusively for tall women and they continue to deliver classic staples for us long limb gals. Their maxi dresses run as long as 70 inches! I got this fuchsia Height Goddess Maxi Dress during their sale and have been hoarding it just for summer.
I saw this adorable off shoulder top on a number of bloggers and was curious whether I could pull of the length with my six foot frame. I took the risk and I’m so glad I did. The length hit a few inches below my belly button. To counter the length I decided to pair the top with the Alloy Apparel High Waist Skinny Jeans.
The jeans fit snugly and were relatively comfy. I really appreciated the high waist. I’m kinda over the low rise jeans. I enjoy sitting down without flashing people LOL. I’ve been getting plenty mileage off the Sheikh Shoes fringe heels.
The shirtdress was made of a light grey and white stripe fabric which was the perfect weight for summer. The dress also featured a classic collar neckline with a T strap back that added such a cute detail. Head over t New York and Company to score the New York and Company Bar Back Stripe Shirtdresswhich is currently on sale!
I’ve been in love with the off shoulder trend and have been collecting various pieces. I saw this ruffle off shoulder dress in a brilliant green color and had to grab it. I decided to pair the green off shoulder dress with red heels.
The green dress featured a doubled tiered ruffle layer that added a flirty touch to the dress. While this dress isn’t tall specific it hit me mid thigh and well it’s summer so why not show some leg.
Of course I needed a bright color to match the brilliance of the dress so I opted for the Sheikh Shoes red fringe heel I purchased earlier this year.
Off the off the shoulder trend has been in heavy rotation for the Spring season and has been seen on celebrities and bloggers alike. I’ve always been fond of this trend and have a collection of off the shoulder blouses I’ve collected over the years.
I remember when I was younger joking that my shoulders were so broad I could play football. Truth be told I loved my broad shoulders. They complimented my collar bones and i always looked graceful in an off the shoulder neckline
The black and white stripe pattern in this blouse was too adorable. I also loved the billowy balloon sleeves on the blouse which fit my arm length perfectly. I wanted to keep my palette neutral so I paired the blouse with the Long Tall Sally Allegro Skinny Pants I snagged during their sale.
I wanted to add a hint of color to the outfit so I paired the look with neon yellow trim chevron heels I bought from Aldo during their sale last year. Aldo has amazing heels in sizes 11 and under and I’m always stalking the site for a good deal. Maybe it’s the Caribbean in me but I always try to incorporate color into an outfit.
I’m definitely making off shoulder blouses a DIY project. They are so easy to make!
