I haven’t done a shoe post for tall women in a while. I’ve been hunting for booties and pumps for the upcoming Fall and Winter weather. While I wear a Size 10.5/11, I know many of my readers wear Size 12.
Below are a few of my favorite picks for Booties and Pumps in sizes 11 and Size 12 !
This Saturday called for brunch on U Street. While on out way to the restaurant we passed by the African American Civil War Memorial.
I had to stop and admire The Spirit of Freedom monument.
I wore a light beige Forever 21 blazer which had a hint of pink in it. Although Forever 21 does not have a Tall section, I often find that their blazers with a length of 30 inches work well on my tall frame. The 3/4 sleeves meant that I didnt have to worry about the sleeve length being too short as it often is with blazers not catered to tall women. #tallgirlproblems smh
Under the blazer, I wore a simple basic knit camisole also from Forever 21. I paired these with Alloy Piper’s Closet Jeans in 37″ inseam.
I chose a Nine West Rose Gold Mid heel which complemented the hint of pink in the blazer nicely.
Finally, I finished the outfit with a Rose Gold watch, bangle and ring
I love Nine West. It is one of the few brands that make a size 10.5. I usually end up settling for a Size 11 which can often be slightly too big so kudos for Nine West for recognizing that larger size shoes should come in half sizes!!
Whiie browsing their latest offerings, I noticed a common Aqua / Juniper Leather theme among a variety of their shoes.
I love this color for spring and it would be a versatile addition to your spring wardrobe.
Spring is in the air and for us ladies that means our toes can rise out from the depths of those winter boots and galoshes. And that also means it’s time to break out the heels!
Sky high platforms and 5+ inch stilettos have dominated the fashion market for the past few years. While most women wear these heels in order to elongate their legs so as to make them appear taller, I fortunately do not have that problem. I have more than enough legs to spare! Don’t get me wrong, I am not one to shy away from a fierce pair of heels! I own several ranging in the 4.5 inch range which would make me a little over 6’4″ and easily the tallest woman in most rooms – a position I proudly and confidently own!
On many occasions however, I like to keep my heels modest. Fortunately a number of my favorite brands are offering stylish heels in the 1-3 inch range.
The two most commonly used terms for what I consider a modest heel are: Kitten heels and Mid Heels
Kitten heels (often called Low heels) typically range from 1 to 2 inches in height.
Mid heels typically range from 2.5 to 3.5 inches in height.
These are heights are not hard and fast and most brands either use the terms interchangeably or go well beyond the 3.5 heel height depending on their design aesthetic.
Here are a few of my favorite modest kitten and mid heels in sizes 11 and up.
And remember tall women, while most shorter women squeem at the thought of wearing a shorter heel, relish in the fact that you can rock heels of any length – long or short – and look fierce as hell while doing so!
